Good websites cost money and website maintenance helps safeguard your investment.

Whilst we are happy to give all of our clients a generous level of ad hoc support and guidance for free, we encourage all of our clients to take out a website maintenance contract on their websites.

What's the difference between website maintenance and development?

Website maintenance is different to development - website maintenance ensures that your website continues to work, for example, that software and content management systems are kept updated or broken links are mended, whereas website development moves things along in line with your website strategy.

What's included in a standUP website maintenance contract?

Website maintenance contracts differ from one provider to the next - and your own website maintenance contract will be based on your own individual website's needs - but to give you an idea of what's involved the standard standUP website maintenance contract generally includes:

• Updating your content management system (CMS) if required – this ensures that your website is using the most up to date version available. The most up to date version is usually the most secure version.
• Updating any extensions or scripts used on your website. Ensuring that they are also the most up to date versions and updating them if they are not. (Again, this ensures that your site is using the most secure versions available).
• Deleting any unused or unnecessary extensions. Deletion of unused extensions helps the security of your website.
• Performing other, regular security checks on your site.
• Completing a manual backup of your website so a disaster recovery file is available when required.
• Checking that existing links are working as planned and dealing with those that aren’t.
• Adding/changing/deleting email addresses upon request.
• Liaison with ISP, hosting company and other third-party service providers if required.

Your standUP website maintenance contract does NOT include:

• Website development
• Image search and manipulation
• Training
• Copywriting
• SEO/SEM related work
• Online marketing
• Design work

Website maintenance costs

Our website maintenance contracts are payable on a monthly basis.  Prices start from £20.00 per month (depending on the complexity of your website). The minimum contract length is 12 months.
